if zheng goes, somthing has to be done, we will have to demand answers. christ its like where a laughing stock, roll up roll up, take your pick of any of these lads. Is Richard murray driving round a mini bus with our first team squad shouting out of the windows "Boy for sale.." like mr bumble from fecking oliver!!!!!

lol. A very humourous analogy. Just hope its not true.
And what erxactly will be done? 1,000 lifers will shrug their shoulders, 5 will demand that they want answers from the board and 7 will say "i never rated him anyway"
We need to sell so be it, makes even more sence if the player is one that isn't going to be around for 1/3 a season and whose contract runs out at the end of the season...
Without seeing the story - don't West Brom have to get a work permit and surely they'd want to run a fitness test on him before signing him, difficult to do properly as he's still in China.
im proposing im gona go on a hunger strike (hommer simposon style) gona chain myself to sammy bartram, anyone who knows me knows that a hunger strike is truley a sign that i mean business, as long as u lads keep passing me out pints from bartrams i will be fine!!! he he..

off topic slightly
there were kids by that statue today, one asked "who's that" another said "a dead man" the other said "why is there a mould of a dead man?" another said "because he's dead"
made me chuckle anyway, their charlton supporting guardian caught up and put them right!
I picked up this link from Evening Standard on line "Sport this is london'"where their 'man in the know' gives the gen; what wories me that 5/5 is given to mean 100% certain. OK where did the rumour come from? Check it out!
Perhaps your right Leroy. I am in fact looking forward very much to tomorrow and even more to season proper. Common you reds
Fair play to you - I am as well. I know most of us are getting steadily more peeved with the situation but, in reality, there ain't really anything we can do about it. I understand your frustrations and share some of them - and i was probably a bit out of line posting that tbh.
I don't recall too many people on this site having much good to say about ZZ, in fact he has been blamed from everything from the bad defending, the long ball to the dodgy beer sold in the ground. I and a few others have always thought he was true quality but if he has to go, so be it, more opportunities for the younger players I say.
I've heard a little whisper that it could be true - then again i've herad the 2 defenders pardew wants t bring in are no ther than Flloyd & Harvey. lol !
With the predicament we're in at the moment, it would be foolish not to take £2m for a player who's likely to walk away for free at the end of the season if we don't get promoted. Reading between the lines, Zhi might be one of these 'distracted' players that Chappell's talking about and if we could get, say, Ben Watson as a straight replacement, I'd be more than happy.
ZZ is on a two year contract and this is his last season.
As above with his being at the Olympics and missing the first few games by when the window will be closed (though that depends on how far China advance) and possibly having an injury problem I can't see any club wanting to sign him. However come the next transfer window if we aren't in a promotion position I can see Charlton being prepared to listen to any offers rather than let him go on a free.
Waggot said at City Addicks that Charlton were taking a new contract out to China for him to sign, to extend his stay, maybe they did and he has turned it down.
West Brom set to land Charlton's Zheng Zhi tribalfooball.com - August 02, 2008
West Brom are set to land Charlton Athletic's Chinese attacker Zheng Zhi in a £2 million deal, says the Daily Mail. Addicks boss Alan Pardew said: "The agenda here has changed. It's very frustrating because when I took over the club at Christmas almost 18 months ago the financial situation wasn't quite what was sold to me."

Or is it a Parker type contract? ......Extend your contract and then we'll promise to sell you in January.
An extended contract more or less guarantees a much increased transfer fee, when the player is finally sold, compared to a contract with less than a year to run.
Wont be going to any British club due to his work permit (From a main board director). If he leaves this season it will be to a foreign club.....and seeing as Charlton have sent representatives overseas to extend his contract its unlikely unless of course he rejects the offer and Charlton get an acceptable offer from one of the more lenient EU countries ( Ithink Germany was cited). I wouldnt expect us to accept less than £3Million
I'll take the money, he's not going to be fit to play for us till September/October, he wants to play in the Premiership, good money, thanks Zhi, and good luck
Different situation, the guy is out of contract in 10 months, won't play for us for the first 6 weeks of the season, might come back from the Olympics injured.
Considering the fact he only has 10 months left on his contract I tend to agree with Rothko - However we do need to use the money wisely if this goes through
yeh, and ambrose has only another year left, and always injured - cut your loses
Shelveys young & can walk any minute - cut your loses
idiot - if you had your way we're be relegated by xmas.
anyone there today could see that we still havn't sorted out the midfield - 2 wingers with no idea how to cross a ball & a midfield who couldn't find put a through pass if they played all night - and you want to gget rid of soneone who scotred most goals from midfield.

He's at the Olympics and they'll struggle to get a work permit because of China's fallen world ranking i.e. Outside of the World top 75
are you serious you want chanting as well as banners
mate we dont get chanting when we have flags and are 2 nil up
you'll be lucky to get anyone to turn up let alone chant
Don't think you'd get too much response thoough anyway.
Lets wait and see what happens...
Probably nothing is my guess, for the reasons stated above.

Gorks?
Eagles?
but i think he only signed on a two year so there may be truth in it i hope not but we will have to see

See, I can be cynical too.
