I had a Qatari gentleman in my cab today who was 'gushing' about charlton and claimed that 'the Qataris' are looking at us and Fulham! Now this could well be (and probably is) bullshit but got me thinking as to whether we would be keen on such a development or if we are happy to make steady progress under Slater/Jiminez and the Mysterons?

Obviously a huge outcry of late, regarding the absence of Chirpy Red. I for one feel his posts are a great loss to the forum and it has turned slightly sterile and nasty. Naturally, actions have to be taken and the situation had to be moderated, however banning such an eloquent and well respected poster is a loss to the forum. I for one hope he comes back and is reinstated soon, the sooner the better.

Charlton have signed 10 new players but all are schoolboys joining the U18 squad.

They are looking for 7 - 9 new first team players in the summer to replace the same number who will be leaving. Most will be cherry picked from league 1 sides who miss out on promotion.

Charlton's plan to launch a Nike kit has fallen through and the Club is now desperately looking around for a new manufacturer. A new sponsor, an FX dealer, has been found but no announcement will be made until the kit deal is sort.

Plans to rename the Valley have been rejected as no one was willing to pay the £2m asking price.

Glenn Tilbrook and the Red Devils will join Charlton's Championship celebrations on 5th May

Emmanuel Frimpong will love to join a Championship side for more game time

Ghanaian starlet Emmanuel Frimpong has admitted he will consider a move to Championship sides Cardiff City or Charlton Athletic.

The powerful midfielder fell off the pecking order on his return from a cruciate knee ligament injury that kept him out of action for eight months last season.

The 19-year-old, who has not hidden his desire to play for the Black Stars, is unsure about first team play next season at the Emirates.

He says he will consider a move to Cardiff or Charlton Athletic who have made approaches to get regular play.

Frimpong said: “It was a difficult season for me with the injury and the comeback but I think I will need to look elsewhere if the current situation continues.”

“Cardiff and Charlton have made enquiries and my understanding is that they’re very serious about me. If I’m not going to get regular play at Arsenal, then what is the point in staying there? He asked

I was told today by somebody within the club that we all know & love that Tony Craig is signing!! I know there have been rumours about it but didn't personally think it would happen, however, this well known person has told me that Craig TRAINED WITH US ON THURSDAY & FRIDAY. Said the Deal should be completed either tomorrow or tuesday!!

I never listen to rumours but this person would definately know!!

Believe me or dont believe me, up to you but I reserve the right to say I told you so :)

Welll, I was down by the ground today round by the car park. I saw a short mop haired bloke come out of the club offices and get into a car. I was standing by the entrance to the car park and as it was leaving it pulled over and the window wound down so the person inside could ask me for a chip. It was Lionel Messi, I recognised him instantly and exclaimed, "Lionel mate, what you doing here?" he told me something in Argentinian which i translated as soon as i got home. It translated to, "I discussing terms with Charlton Athletic i fed up at Barcelona, i want t o play for same team great great grandpapy Messi play for when he in your homeland." He then sodded off because i refused to give him a chip, but i just thought i would shar this news with you because we are in fact signing Lionel Messi.

A host of clubs are tracking Dagenham & Redbridge star Danny Green, skysports.com understands.

The 22-year-old, who joined Dagenham from Bishop's Stortford in the summer of 2009, has been a revelation since his arrival at the club.

Green inspired the Daggers to promotion from League Two last season and he has carried on his fine form in League One this term.

Green, who has also impressed in a central midfield role this season, has netted four goals so far this season and his performances have alerted clubs higher up the football pyramid.

Several Championship sides and League One rivals Charlton are all thought to be keeping tabs on the winger's progress.

Dagenham are determined to keep hold of Green, but they could find it hard to turn down a sizeable offer for the player if his suitors follow up their interest in January

The Labour government developed a policy to do "all it could" to ensure the Lockerbie bomber's release from a Scottish prison, the UK's top civil servant has said........

Abdelbaset Ali al Megrahi was controversially freed from jail on compassionate grounds in August 2009.

It was claimed he had just three months to live, but al Megrahi - who received a hero's welcome on his return to Libya - is still very much alive.
O'Donell said the Labour government feared UK interests could be damaged if the bomber died in a British prison.
The cabinet secretary concluded: "Policy was, therefore, progressively developed that Her Majesty's Government should do all it could, while respecting devolved competencies, to facilitate an appeal by the Libyans to the Scottish government for Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi's release under the Prisoner Transfer Agreement (PTA) or for release on compassionate grounds.\
"Such an approach was understood across all relevant departments.

Championship and League One clubs are showing an interest in the highly-rated 21-year-old, who has been called into the full Australia squad.

Bury struggling to hold onto Man Utd youth

Bury face a huge battle to keep hold of Manchester United loan star Nicky Ajose, skysports.com can reveal.

19-year-old Ajose, an England youth international, has performed brilliantly since moving to Gigg Lane on loan in September.

The young forward has scored six goals in just 13 games so far, and his performances have brought him to the attention of a number of clubs.

His displays have also pleased his parent club, who have also offered him a new contract at Old Trafford.

Ajose's current loan deal with Bury expires on Monday, and it seems he could have played his final game for the Shakers with interest arising in both the Championship and League One.

Barnsley and Charlton are believed to be among the teams looking closely at him, although it is understood up to 12 clubs could be ready to approach United.
